Toques, Eh?

As defined by Urban Dictionary: Toque noun The ultimate in high Canadian fashion. Worn year round whether it's cold or warm outside. And yes it does get warm in Canada! "I never leave the house without a nice toque on my head" Canadians love their toques and American's love their beanies. Whatever you choose call them, I feel instantly laid back when I wear this warm accessory. Also, a toque can easily save you from a bad hair day. I love experimenting with different colours, textures, and styles to change up my look daily. Use a colourful toque to brighten up a simple outfit. I love the mustard yellow toque from Urban Outfitters. 2.) Tie in the colours from your outfit with your toque. I have a flannel shirt from Joe Fresh that I like to wear my burgundy American Apparel toque with because it brings out the burgundy stripes in the pattern. I also like to wear a berry lip stain to take this look from casual to chic! 3.) Have fun with patterns! I paired my DC Shoes toque with a cozy grey sweater. You can make a statement with your toque when your outfit is more basic. 4.) When you can't decide what toque to wear, go neutral. No matter what outfit, pattern or colour combination you are wearing a neutral toque is always a safe bet. My handmade knit toque balances out my outfit perfectly.
