Today, I was inspired to create an outfit based on my boyfriend's plaid jacket. I absolutely adore the pattern, coziness and woodsy feel of his coat. I finally got one of my own so I could be his Lumber Jill! With a few layers and accessories, I call this my "boho hobo" look:
My buffalo plaid jacket is from Old Navy and I love the way it fits! When the jacket is open the fit is more boxy (which I like), but since it is double breasted I could button it up for a more flattering look. I layered a patterned sweater underneath my jacket, but broke up the two different patterns with a green cardigan. I decided to keep the rest of my outfit more neutral and let the plaid jacket be the star.
When layering with two competing patterns, break them up with a solid item of clothing.
