Follow the Pattern to Spring Style

It's time to put my boyfriend/photographer in front of the camera. Get ready for the awkwardness- haha just kidding! I am definitely no photographer, but I wanted to show you some of my favourite spring outfits my man has been reppin' these days. Spoiler: each outfit features an awesome pattern! It was a fun role reversal- I got to laugh at all his outtakes and he got to boss me around until we got the perfect shot. We have a very similar taste in fashion, so it is easy to find outfits we both like. I love his style- eclectic, lots of patterns, flannels, denim and vintage finds. I would rather go shopping and pick out clothing for him instead of myself. I also wish he was not an XL because I want to wear all of these outfits! Here are our 3 favourite spring looks: SpringPatterns-2 Tip: Pair a bold, colourful patterned shirt with neutral bottoms so the pattern is the main focus, in this case...PINEAPPLES. A backwards hat takes this outfit from "tourist in Hawaii" to "summertime swag." Shirt - Simons Shorts - Frank and Oak Shoes - Urban Outfitters Snapback - Federal Moto SpringPatterns-3 Tip: When the pattern is more understated, like this polka dot tee, you can pair it with brighter bottoms. We chose bright orange shorts - why not! Also, bucket hats are not just for kids anymore, you can keep your skin protected while looking super cool. Shirt - American Apparel Shorts - Urban Outfitters Shoes - Havaianas Hat - Penfield SpringPatterns-1 Tip: This pattern is small, but needs to be noticed, cacti are all the rage this season! Just like with the pineapple shirt, you can pair it with black cuffed jeans so the pattern stands out. The perfect spring outfit for 9-5. Shirt - Frank and Oak Pants - Levi's Shoes - Gravity Pope  Writing this post made my think of this video, although my boyfriend says he enjoys taking my photos... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFzKi-o4rHw
